The electric vehicle market is booming. According to the IEA, more than two million electric vehicles were sold worldwide in the first quarter of 2022. Charging networks for these vehicles have developed in many countries.
At the same time, many rental companies are now offering electric vehicles to customers.

Where is the best place to rent an electric vehicle? How easy will it be to find a place to load it? Below we show the relevant charging networks in various countries along with the US states.

We use data from  Open Charge Map  , an open source database of charge points around the world. We also use the International Energy Agency’s Global EV Data Explorer   for data on the share of electric cars in use in various countries.
